Pain Reprocessing Therapy in Saskatoon or Virtually Online.
You've done the physio. You've tried the stretching, the massage, maybe the chiro. And you're still not okay.
That's not a failure on your part. It might just mean the approach hasn't accounted for everything that's going on β specifically, what your nervous system is doing.
Book NowWhat is Pain Reprocessing TherapyΒ
Pain Reprocessing Therapy β or PRT β is an evidence-based approach built around one key idea: chronic pain isn't always about ongoing injury or damage. Sometimes the brain gets stuck in a loop, sending pain signals even when the body is safe. It's not imaginary. It's not weakness. It's just how a sensitized nervous system can work.
PRT helps interrupt that loop. Through a combination of education, movement, and learning to notice sensations without fear, it can help the brain stop interpreting normal signals as dangerous.
The goal isn't to push through pain or talk yourself out of it. It's to help your nervous system genuinely feel safer β so the signals start to change on their own.

PRT tends to be a good fit if you've been dealing with:
Chronic or persistent pain that hasn't responded to conventional treatment
Pain that moves around, flares with stress, or doesn't match what shows up on imaging
Anxiety, fear of movement, or a sense that your body has become unpredictable
Conditions like fibromyalgia, chronic back or neck pain, headaches, or long COVID symptoms
A feeling of being dismissed or told the pain is "just stress"
It's not for every situation. If something acute or structural is going on, Scotty will tell you that clearly β and refer you to the right person if needed.
Our Approach
Scotty Butcher is a registered physiotherapist and PhD physiologist with specialized training in Pain Reprocessing Therapy. His approach looks at the whole picture β your physical symptoms, your story, your stress, and how your nervous system is responding to all of it.
Sessions aren't one-size-fits-all. Some people need more education about what's happening in their brain and body. Others benefit more from body-based work, biofeedback, or breathing. Often it's a combination. The direction comes from really understanding what's going on with you β not from a standard protocol.
If you feel pain, it's real. That's always the starting point.
Explore Conditions TreatedThe first step is a free 15-minute phone consult β just a conversation to see if this approach makes sense for you and answer any questions you have.
If it feels like a fit, the first full appointment is a deep dive. Scotty takes time to really understand your history, your symptoms, and what's been going on in your life. The assessment is thorough β physical, but also contextual. From there, you'd decide together where to go next.
PRT is offered both in person and virtually.
Starting May 11, 2026, Scotty's private office is located at 230 22nd Street E, 3rd Floor, downtown Saskatoon. Paid street parking is available nearby, and the building has elevator access.
